IT Network Specialist

The IT Network Specialist is to provide support for ACB's network infrastructure and workstations/equipment. This includes but not limited to, servers, switches, routers, and other ACB network hardware equipment by direct contact, by email or by phone and also workstations, laptops, printers, phones and other ACB computer equipment by direct contact, by email or by phone. The Network Specialist serves as the first point of contact with ACB staff, contractors and third-party technicians for troubleshooting hardware/software issues with ACB equipment and operates as the primary contact on Network related support issues.

DUTIES

• Maintains an on-call status for Network issues; designated as the first responder when Network Services issues arise outside of ACB working hours.
• Troubleshoots issues with ACB network and computer equipment based on user requests by gathering pertinent data, identifying/evaluating available options, and solution recommendations.
• Actively administrates the following network services:
• Backup Tapes and Backup/Restore functions (logs, notifications, reporting).
• Network Firewall, switches, and other network devices.
• Anti-Virus updates and configuration.
• ACB Servers (File, Print, Web, FTP, Application, Database, etc.).
• Domain/SSL Cert creation via Online Domain/Certificate registrar.
• Creates and maintains ACB network documentation as instructed by the IT Network Lead and ACB management.
• Maintains active logs on all network switches, firewalls and devices.
• Contributes to IT Network policies and procedures; maintains policies per ACB management.
• Assists the IT Network Manager in planning/implementation of existing or new hardware/software requirements via research and recommendations.
• Deploys workstations, laptops and other ACB computer equipment based upon ACB standards.
• Installs hardware/software based on ACB computer specifications.
• Responsible for setup/removal of user accounts via Active Directory, Office 365 and other credentials based on requests from ACB supervisory staff.
• Runs secure Document Printing Jobs as directed by clients within internal ACB applications.
• Maintains computer hardware inventory based on prescribed ACB methods.
• Maintains computer software installation/licensing based on prescribed ACB methods.
• Evaluates new systems, hardware, or software by testing with existing ACB hardware/software.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Associates Degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• A+ Hardware certification and experience with PC hardware (workstations, laptops).
• Network+ Certification preferred, or equivalent work experience
